Purse Stolen from Shopping Cart, Teen Snatches Car Stereo: Blotter

FRIDAY, APRIL 12
Purse Stolen at Menard's
A purse was stolen from a shopping cart after the owner walked away from it, according to a report. The theft happened at about 11:30 a.m. at Menard's, 17545 Halsted St. The victim checked with store employees to see if anyone had turned in the purse before contacting police.

Car Stereo Snatched
Lavon Moore, 18, of the 200 block of Rainbow Drive in Glenwood, was charged with burglary, according to a police report. She is accused of removing a car stereo that did not belong to her. She was seen at about 7:10 p.m. near 187th Street carrying a car stereo. Moore reportedly dropped the stereo, worth $299.99, in the 800 block of 187th Street.

Harassment By Telephone
Michael Ryon, 22, of the 4700 block of 151st Street in Oak Forest, was charged with harassment by telephone, according to a report. He is accused of making threatening comments through text messages to an ex-girlfriend. Ryon is due in Markham court on May 20.
