Rash of Car Burglaries Prompts Police Warning

Is your car locked right now?

An elevated number of area car burglaries have been reported over the weekend, according to both the Flossmoor and Homewood Police Departments.

The Heather Hill and Flossmoor Park neighborhoods were among the heaviest hit, police say. None of the vehicles showed signs of forced entry.

In these types of situations, the burglar or burglars tend to park their cars in remote locations and travel around on foot, checking vehicles for unlocked doors.
