Riverdale Man Resists Arrest, Nets Charges

According to Homewood Police, a 19-year-old man caught with stolen alcohol at Kmart attacked store employees and resisted arrest last Sunday.

On Sunday, June 12, a 19-year-old Riverdale man caught with stolen alcohol at attacked store employees and resisted arrest, according to Homewood police.

Troy D. Lee, of the 14500 block of State Street, refused to keep his hands behind his back as directed by a Homewood police officer and scuffled with that officer on the ground, according to the police report.

Store security officers told police that after observing Lee taking Hennesey Black, three employees sought to detain him, but he resisted them. When Homewood officers responded to the incident, Lee also resisted them, but was finally subdued, according to the report.

Lee is charged with retail theft, one count of resisting a police officer and three counts of battery.
