Homewood police reports, Jan. 11-14

MONDAY, JANUARY 14 

Stolen Cupcakes, Chicken

Police issued a citation to a man for stealing a box of cupcakes and a bucket of fried chicken from the 183rd Street Jewel-Osco just before 11 p.m., according to reports. The total value of the stolen food was just under $30, police say. 

Stolen Booze

Kmart security caught a woman red handed as she attempted to steal two bottles of alcohol from the store around 4:15. p.m., according to reports. Police say the total value of the stolen bottles was just under $80.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 11 

Apartment Break-in

Someone broke into a Homewood man’s apartment on the 800 block of Elder Road sometime between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., according to police. Police say the resident left the apartment for thirty minutes, noticing two suspicious men on the way out. Reports say the man found the south bedroom window fully open when he got back. The burglar or burglars also stole just over $1,000 in electronics, according to the report.
