Summer Silliness

Four people, ages 18 to 20, were cited with disorderly conduct after they drove around the Homewood-Flossmoor area and tossed water balloons from their moving vehicle at other vehicles, police said. Homewood and Flossmoor police received calls that water balloons were being thrown at passing cars and trucks near 175th and Halsted streets and near Kedzie Avenue and Vollmer Road. The men were apprehended in the 700 block of Ridge Road and ticketed at 6:31 p.m. after admitting to their actions. Police said the offenders apologized and acknowledged what they did was dumb. Police reportedly found more than 30 water-filled balloons in a tub in the backseat of the vehicle as well as two cans of silly string and two squirt guns.
