Stolen Dental Supplies, Tires, Converters and Booze: Homewood Police Blotter

Homewood police reports, Jan. 18-23

MONDAY, JAN. 23

Stolen Tires

A manager for a car dealership in the 3200 block of 183rd Street reported one missing tire on four of his cars. He told police that the Goodyear Wrangler and Rugged Trail tires were valued at $500 apiece and went missing between Jan. 2 and 21.

It Takes Two

Raymond Coppage, 37, of the 15700 block of Lexington Avenue in Harvey, was charged with retail theft. Employees of a liquor store in the 18200 block of Halsted Street told police they saw Coppage pocket an $11 bottle of vodka in his jacket around 10 a.m. and leave without paying. After Homewood police reviewed the footage and issued an alert, a Glenwood police officer stopped and arrested Coppage, according to the report.

Possession of Cocaine

Andre Argue, 36, of the 300 block of Boston Street in Chicago Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Police said they found one-tenth of a gram of cocaine in Argue’s pocket after stopping him in the 2100 block of 183rd Street around 7 p.m. for crossing a double-lane divider. A metal grinder with residual marijuana was also found in his car, according to the report. Tickets were also issued for improper lane usage.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18

Stolen Dental Supplies

A manager of a dental supply company reported more than $10,400 in missing implants. He told police that four items had been ordered by an employee between July and October but never used or returned to the warehouse. Criminal complaints were not signed by the time of this report.

Stolen Car Parts

Catalytic converters were reported stolen from two cars parked in the 900 block of Maple Road between Jan. 13 and 17. In both instances, someone cut parts of the exhaust with a saw, police said.
