Strange Garage Door Opener Bandit Strikes in Flossmoor

Police are on the lookout for a man in a ski mask who snuck into a resident's garage and demanded his garage door opener on Monday.

A man clad in a black ski mask walked into a Flossmoor resident's garage and demanded his remote control, according to a community alert issued by Flossmoor police Tuesday afternoon.

On Jan. 17, at about 5:45 p.m.,  in the 1500 Block of Tearle Court, a resident drove into the garage and started closing the overhead garage door when the resident heard the garage door start opening back up.

The resident then saw a man wearing a black ski mask standing in the garage, according to police. The man told the resident he was not going to harm anyone and requested the garage remote opener, police said.
