MONDAY, FEB. 6
Employee Theft
Karen Miller, 23, of the 500 block of Longwood Drive in Glenwood was charged with theft. Security at a store in the 17500 block of Halsted Street told police that, between Jan. 9 and Feb. 6, Miller had pocketed a total of $695 while moving cash between registers. Police said she was caught on surveillance footage and, when arrested, admitted to stealing to help support her child.

Illegal Transport of Alcohol
Rashaun Mitchell, 30, of the 16200 block of Winchester Avenue in Markham was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis, driving on a suspended license and no rear registration light. Police said they stopped Mitchell’s car in the 18200 block of Kedzie Avenue around 12:30 a.m. for driving without a rear plate light. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license and an inventory search of his car revealed a bag containing 2.5 grams of marijuana and a half-empty bottle of Cognac, according to the report.
Cocaine Lost and Found
A small bag of cocaine was found in the Jewel on Halsted Street around 4 p.m. and turned over to customer service, police said. In turn, the bag was given to an officer who reported placing it in evidence for destruction.

FRIDAY, FEB. 3
The Great Tablet Escape
Police are looking for a group of people who may have stole $3,466 worth of electronics from a store in the 17800 block of Halsted Street. Two male and two female Hispanics were reported leaving the store around noon without paying for two iPads, five Samsung tablets and one Asus tablet. Store security said the group had stolen from another of their stores in the past. Police had no other description of the suspects available as of Tuesday afternoon.
