Syringes Recovered, 2 Busted for Pot: Blotter

Syringes Found During Stop


Kevin Scott, 21, of the 2900 block of Arizona Street, Lake County, IN, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Homewood police report. Police stopped his a green Ford Explorer at about 8:34 p.m. in the 17400 block of Halsted Street for minor traffic violations and found that the driver, Scott, had several syringes. Scott also had an active warrant for his arrest from the Indiana Department of Corrections. He was held pending extradition.
He is due Sept. 23 in Markham court.

Citation for Marijuana


A male bike rider who had weed in his pants pocket was cited for possession of marijuana at about 5:27 p.m. in the 1000 block of Holbrook Road, according to a report. Police saw the person riding the bike on residential driveways. Officers recovered about 0.6 grams of marijuana during the stop.

TUESDAY, JULY 30

Pot Bust


Police recovered 5.9 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop at about 10:06 p.m. in the 18400 block of Halsted Street, Glenwood, according to a report. The white Saturn was stopped after an officer saw it cross the center road lines. Police could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A search turned up the car and the driver was cited.
