Vacationing Couple Loses Thousands in Burglary: Blotter

Evergreen Park Driver Charged with DUI

Jelena Odak, 37, of the 10000 block of South Homan Avenue, Evergreen Park, was charged with DUI and improper lane use, according to a Flossmoor police report. Police allegedly spotted Odak's black Ford SUV crossing the center line and weaving in the lanes, striking the curb at least twice. She was stopped at about 9 a.m. on Vollmer Road. According to police, Odak reportedly had an odor of alcohol on her breath and slurred her speech. She told police she was unable to perform field sobriety tests. After being arrested, she declined to take a breath test at the police department. Odak was booked a given a April 22 court date in Markham.

Couple Reports TVs, Clothes, Jewerly Missing

A couple who lives in the 2800 block of Macheath Crescent told police they were robbed of thousand of dollars of televisions, clothing and jewelry while on vacation. The husband filed the report, telling Flossmoor police that they had returned home and were told by a neighbor that the side door to their house was damaged and open. A 40-inch Insignia LCD television, a 32-inch Panasonic television, several coats valued at $1,000 each, several Chanel purses valued at $5,000 each, a camera with lenses, and assorted jewelry were found missing. No arrest was reported.
