Chipotle Will Sell Liquor: Homewood Board Recap

Also, the village is getting two new vehicles and the upcoming Grapes and Grain Co. beer and wine store will receive village funding for property improvement.

Homewood Buys Two New Vehicles

The board voted to waive bidding requirements and approved $45,509.85 for the purchase of one new Chevy Tahoe and one new Ford F350, both through Illinois State Purchase contracts.

Liquor License Approved for Chipotle

Despite some confusion among the board as to why Chipotle previously insisted on not needing a liquor license, the trustees unanimously voted to add and approve a Class 5 liquor license for the upcoming Chipotle restaurant on 17700 Halsted. Previously, was the only Class 5 license holder.

A minor snag occured, however, when the representative from Chipotle realized there was no language in the agreement to allow for alcoholic beverages to be taken outside on the patio. The board still voted to allow the Class 5 license and advised Chipotle to come back with a request for outdoor alcohol permission.

Board Approves Incentive Money for Upcoming "Grapes and Grain Co." Property Improvements

The village board voted to approve no more than $47,629 through the Retail Enhancement, Façade and Property Improvement and the Go Green Reward programs, to assist Ron Khalaf in developing his upcoming boutique wine and craft beer store, Grapes and Grain Co. The soon-to-be store is located at 18031 Dixie Highway.
