Flossmoor Gives Warm Welcome to New Convenience Store

Quick Mart, a new convenience store in town, was honored last Friday after recently opening up two months ago.

Mayor Paul Braun and several village trustees gathered early last Friday morning for the ribbon cutting ceremony for Flossmoor’s newest business, Quick Mart.

Owners Mike Amawi and Moe Omari opened the doors of the Quick Mart convenience shop two months ago.  This is their second location, the first being at 115th Street and Pulaski. Prior to their coming, the building was a vacant shell of a former convenience store. An attendee at the ribbon cutting ceremony was overheard saying the current Quick Mart is much nicer and more family-oriented than the previous convenience store located there.

“For many years, this store has been an institution here in town,” Mayor Paul Braun said. “I don’t know how many  generations of students, , have been here, and their parents come in all the time for the quick necessities of life.”

“We own part of Flossmoor now … and we’re here to stay,” Omari said.
