Flossmoor Village Board Approves Backing Staff's Relay for Life Team

At its June 3 meeting, the Flossmoor Village Board approved a move to allow a month-long raffle to support Flossmoor staff's efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Several Flossmoor village staff members have joined together in an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society's up coming Relay for Life event.

The village board approved waiving fees connected to a raffle and bond requirements for the team at its June 3, meeting.

“This is for the upcoming Relay for Life event,” said Kimberly Richardson, assistant to the village manager. “Because of that, we're holding this raffle.”

The prize for the raffle is an Apple iPad-mini, which is valued at about $350, Richardson said. Village staff members will attempt to raise $1,500 for the event, and have currently raised about $800, Richardson said.

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at the Flossmoor Village Hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road; Flossmoor Public Works, 1700 Central Park; the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Avenue; and H-F High School, 999 Kedzie Avenue; for $1 each.
