Flossmoor Village Hall Releases Blizzard Aftermath Update

Flossmoor Village Hall speaks up about what's being done to remove all this snow.

Flossmoor's Public Works Department has officially plowed all village streets at least once, according to a press release sent by the Village.

Despite the efforts, however, the report indicated that high wind drifts and sheer amounts of snow have made it difficult to keep residential streets and cul-de-sacs clear. The Village says that Public Works will continue to remove snow over those areas throughout the next couple of days.

The Village also released a statement regarding the safety of H-F residents as they cope with blizzard aftermath conditions.

"For those traveling, remember cold temperatures prevents the street from melting snow off, so most of the side roads will be snow packed," read the press release. "People need to drive with caution."

Public Works will continue to clean roads and parking lots as quickly possible, but they are also asking for the help of residents.

"Remember to remove snow from around fire hydrants and keep them visible.  This can save precious minutes for firefighters in an emergency," said the release.
