Homewood Mayor Offers to Pay For Your Adopted Pet’s License

Mayor Richard Hofeld wants to share the joy of pet adoption with all residents by covering the $10 licensing fee himself.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of witnessing Village President Richard Hofeld touring around downtown Homewood with his enormous dogs can probably tell he’s got a soft spot for pets. They’re typically labs of varying colors and, most importantly, they’re all former shelter dogs.

In the most recent edition of Homewood’s Village Key newsletter, the mayor explains the joy that pet adoption has brought him and his family. In an effort to share that happiness, Hofeld is making an offer to all Homewood residents.

“When you adopt a rescue dog or cat, between now and July, I’ll pay for your 2013-14 Village of Homewood dog license, myself.”
