The Village of Homewood was lauded for its recent marketing efforts at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) 2013 Savvy Awards on Thursday, Sept. 5.
All-in-all, Homewood took home two Savvies, beating out competition from bigger players like Santa Clarita, CA and Leon County, FL:
- Best overall re-branding campaign for "You're In the Right Place" slogan, launched in 2012.
- Best social media communication & marketing tools for "Zombie Paradise" video series.
"The judges liked the simplicity of Homewood's 'You're in the Right Place' campaign. It is easy to remember and flexible to use," 3CMA Director of Information Scott Lehtonen said. "The judges also felt that while Homewood is serious about attaining the goal of its branding as 'the right place' for young families, the Village isn't afraid to have a bit of fun...as evidenced by the zombie videos. The judges felt the 'Zombie Paradise' campaign was very effective in bringing the community together to celebrate the attributes of Homewood and in getting people to talk about it!"
The re-branding campaign was spearheaded by Homewood Marketing Manager Rachael Jones, who says it's been extremely successful, so far.
"Our residents have embraced the idea of being in 'the right place' because that is how many of us feel," Jones said. "That energy is contagious and has brought positive attention to perspective Homewoodians."
Homewood Mayor Richard Hofeld called the awards a "tremendous honor" for the village.
"Homewood takes pride in its public outreach to its citizens and its ability to attract new residents," Hofeld said. "Receiving these top honors verifies we're on the right path with our efforts."
