The business has to have a liquor license to sell liquor

I don't think a store like that would last. There was a fancy liquor store in Glenwood Plaza that didn't last very long.

It's all about location. I know of quite a few home brewers who would be interested in a local store. They need to keep fresh product. Not sure how well this would mesh with a wine boutique, though.

I wouldn't mind a local place that did tastings, like the WineStyles that used to be in Flossmoor. Barley and Hops (interesting name similarity here) was the place in Homewood and they had a great variety of craft beers. They were supposed to relocate to Homewood but I don't whatever happened there.

How many more liquor licenses are available in this town? We just gave one to Walgreen's. I'm fairly sure Family Liquors on Dixie would not be happy about yet another competitor. I'm all for free trade and competition, but let's quit having the same shops over and over again.

I assure u we are not a liquor store. We will not be selling hard liquor. This establishment will only carry the finest of microbrews, wines and a full line of homebrewing supplies along with gift items for every occasion. There has never been anything remotely close to this type of business in homewood. We also fill growlers and can serve on premise! Believe me, once open, u will appreciate this place once open. We are no competition to Family Liquors, Homewood Liquors or any one else. We are VERY DIFFERENT!

This place isn't for everyone. If u want bud, miller, colors, corona, old style, schlitz, busch, vodka, gin, rum, tequila, etc etc, then u have to go elsewhere. All we sell is GREAT BEER, FANTASTIC WINE and unlimited HOME-BREWING SUPPLIES for our home brewers. We DO NOT carry SPIRITS either.

We were Barley and Hops. We are now coming to Homewood as The Grape & Grain Co. If u liked us then wait till u see this place. We left our other location due to the unacceptable condition of the property. The only difference here is that we will not be selling any spirits, cheap quality beers, or bad wine. Upscale store with only the best product at very reasonable prices. You will be impressed!

Where else can u go in Homewood and by fresh grain, yeast, Hops, beer making equipment, accessories, gift items, gift baskets, over 400 different microbrews, filled growler's, beer and wine by the glass, taste before u buy etc etc. I know no such establishment like that currently in Homewood or within a 50+ mile radius. We do not want the same shop as anyone else in Homewood, nor will we have anything remotely similar. Thanks for all your comments.
