New Homewood Police Officer Kozlowski Sworn In

The Marian Catholic graduate formally entered the Homewood Police Department during the Sept. 11 village board meeting.

Michael Kozlowski couldn’t hold back a smirk as he took oath as Homewood’s newest police officer during the Sept. 11 village board meeting. 

Prior to Kozlowski’s swearing in, Homewood Police Chief Larry Burnson gave a quick recap of his qualifications. Burnson said the 2007 Marian Catholic graduate received his bachelor's of science in law enforcement from Western Illinois University in 2011. Since then, he’s been working for the South Holland Police Department until Sept. 4, when he officially began working with the . 

Kozloski is also currently attending the Chicago Police Academy’s 400-hour basic recruit training. According to Burnson, Kozlowski was not dressed in full police dress attire during the meeting because the program prohibits it until a more advanced level of training has been achieved.
