New Property Purchase; Street Resurfacing: On the Agenda

A preview of what's on the agenda for Monday night's Flossmoor Village Board meeting.

Flossmoor Mayor Paul Braun and the village trustees will meet at  on Monday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Among the agenda items are two different contract bid awards. The first is for the sidewalk replacement program—for which $30,000 has been allocated for sidewalk replacement focusing on the Heather Hill subdivision. The second is for the street resurfacing program—for which $200,000 has been budgeted.

The following streets are scheduled for resurfacing as part of this year’s program:

  • Lynwood Court (Dixie Highway to end)
  • Hawthorne Ln. (Braeburn Ave. to Western Ave.)
  • Bunker Rd. (Caddy St. to end)
  • Polly Ln. (Heather Hill Cr. to MacHeath Cr.)
  • Lismore St. (Selkirk St. to Dunfries St.)
  • Central Park Ave. (Dunfries St. to 192nd St.)
  • 192nd Street (Central Park to 3605 192nd St.)

Also on the agenda is an ordinance to approve a real estate purchase contract for the village, allowing them to spend $400,000 for the purchase of 19 acres of contiguous real estate within the Southwest TIF district. The land is currently owned by First Midwest Bank. According to the ordinance, the village plans to use the land for commercial developments.
