Tax Levy Public Meeting: On the Agenda

A preview of what's going to be discussed and voted on during Flossmoor's Dec. 3 village board meeting.

Flossmoor Mayor Paul Braun and the village trustees will meet at Flossmoor Village Hall on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Tax Levy Public Meeting

In accordance with legal requirements, village officials will use time during tonight's board meeting to hold a public meeting on the village's proposed estimated capped tax increase. The estimated 2012 levy, as approved by the board in November, is 5.28 percent higher than in 2011. Mayor Paul Braun will be required to explain why the estimated capped levy is greater than 105 percent of last year's.

Mid-Year Financial Review

Village Manager Bridget Wachtel, along with the help of village staff will present a mid-year analysis of Flossmoor's financial situation as it compares to the fiscal year 2013 budget. The addition of $7.2 million in G.O. bonds from the village's recent referendum is also included in the report, as are the village's Fiscal Year 2014 goals. All in all, Wachtel says "The village should be proud of its many accomplishments to date this fical year and its prudent management of the public's funds and resources."
