Police Officer Honored, Committee Member Sworn In [Video]

Officer Michael Mac Donald Honored: Police Chief Larry Burnson read a resolution honoring Officer Michael Mac Donald after more than 28 years of service to the . 

Mac Donald became a sergeant on October 14, 2003. His education includes a B.S. from Western Illinois University in addition to the completion of a ten-week course from Northwestern University's Traffic Institute in 1997.

Throughout his career, Mac Donald has been involved with several special duties, including acting as a motorcycle officer and tactical officer. He was also honored as "police officer of the year" in 1994 for numerous outstanding accomplishments.

Mac Donald retired on May 2.

New Senior Advisory Committee Member: Alyce Fischer was sworn in to the Senior Advisory Committee for a two-year term.

BBQ Bucks: The board approved a request for an amount not to exceed $10,000, through the Retail Enhancement Incentive program, to be given to Tim Donohoe and Doug Brown for the interior improvement of their up-and-coming Twisted Q BBQ and Bakery.

Quotes: Trustee Anne Colton said, "This is exactly what TIF money is for."

"This is a great opportunity for them, this is a great opportunity for the community," Trustee Tom Kataras said.
