Renovations in Store for Dolphin Lake

A new fishing peer and clubhouse improvements are just some of the improvements the H-F Park District is considering for the 183rd Street and Governors Highway park.

Dolphin Lake may soon be seeing nearly one million dollars in renovations, according to the Sun-Times Media.

H-F Park District Director Debbie Kopas says the district has been planning on making improvements to the 183rd Street and Governors Highway location for years now.

But with the economy and all we’ve been going through, all of our capital has been going toward, ‘let’s maintain what we are doing,’ ” Kopas told the Sun-Times Media. “We’re excited to do something that’s more fun than infrastructure.”

Possible improvements include a new fishing pier, pavilion, shoreline restoration and clubhouse improvements.

“It’s on the corner and it’s pretty unattractive,” Kopas told the Sun-Times media. “We’d like it to be beautiful and put a smile on the face of the community.”
