On Friday, Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation banning the use of hand-held cell phones will driving statewide. Use of hand-held phones is already illegal in construction zones and school zones.
The law, which takes effect Jan. 1, 2014, imposes fees starting at $75 for drivers caught gabbing behind the wheel.
What do you think of the statewide ban? Is it necessary? Is talking and driving as dangerous as texting and driving?
