“This is such a wonderful acknowledgement, I have to thank you all,” said DiGiovanni. “I just want to say that it has been such a pleasure and privilege to serve my community. It means the world to me.”

Amendment of Village Municipal Code

Chapter 13 of Flossmoor’s municipal code, related to water and sewer accounts, was amended to close a loophole with regard to outstanding water accounts. The amendment also increases water and sewer account deposit amounts.

Sewer Cleaning Bid Award

Village contractor M & J Underground was awarded the bid at $56,236.20 for Flossmoor’s annual sewer cleaning and televising program. This bid is close to $34,000 less than the $90,000 the village had budgeted for the project.

M & J Underground has previously worked with Flossmoor on sanitary water repairs. Assistant Public Works Director John Brunke presented the bid request. He said that he has experience with the contractor.

“I worked with (M & J Underground) in the Village of Crete on several projects and I do recommend them for this kind of work,” said Brunke.

Just before voting to approve the award, Trustee James Wilder said he was surprised the price was so low.

Tag Day Request for Cub Scout Pack

Flossmoor trustees approved Homewood Cub Scout Pack 304’s tag day request for its annual geranium sale May 7.

Correction: We originally reported that the bid for the annual sewer cleaning and televising program was awarded to "Energy Underground." The correct contractor is "M&J Underground," and our changes reflect that.
