Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College Featuring Three Prominent Chicago Artists to Celebrate Chicago Artists Month

The Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College is featuring three prominent Chicago artists to celebrate Chicago Artists Month.

To celebrate Chicago Artists Month, celebrating the city’s art and artists, the Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College (PSC) in Chicago Heights, Ill., is featuring the works of three prominent Chicago artists whose works have been shown and are owned by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary a Art in Chicago, the Whitney Museum of America Art and Museum of Modern Art in New York City, as well as other prominent museums and galleries.

The show, “Narrative!” will run Oct. 1 through Nov. 1, 2012, and features artists Gladys Nilsson, Eleanor Spiess-Ferris, and John Pitman Weber. An opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4.

Gallery Director Beth Shadur says the artists "tell oblique narratives through their combination of images, both imaginary and observed.”

“These painters use vivid color, intensely personal imagery, and a combination of tender and challenging reflections on the human experience," she added.
