Steelworkers for the Future Open House Highlights Partnership Between Prairie State College and ArcelorMittal

Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting a Steelworkers for the Future Open House, Monday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. in the PSC Conference Center room 1318.

Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting a Steelworkers for the Future Open House, Monday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. in the PSC Conference Center room 1318.

The program is a partnership between PSC and ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel and mining company. Students in the program complete four semesters of classroom training at PSC and 24 weeks of paid internship and training at ArcelorMittal facilities.

Dr. Marie Hansel, dean of health and industrial technology at PSC, says the program offers potential students a great opportunity for a rewarding career in the steel industry.

“As technology changes, careers in steel have become much more exciting and highly competitive. This program offers PSC students the opportunity to get a competitive advantage from the very beginning,” she said.
