PSC Speech Team Brings Home Multiple Awards

A Homewood member of the team took second place in entertainment and oral interpretation.

The Prairie State College (PSC) speech team placed fourth overall and brought home several individual awards during the recent tournament hosted by the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.

DaQuawn Bruce of Riverdale was named tournament champion for persuasive speaking and received second place for poetry interpretation. Jasmine Ross of Richton Park received second place for informative speaking. Destin Patton-Warner of Riverdale received third place for speech to entertain, second place for dramatic interpretation, and second place for prose interpretation. Sanni Mohammed-Haruna of Homewood received second place for speech to entertain and second place for program oral interpretation.

Also competing were Rachel Latsos of Flossmoor, Censarray Wilson of South Holland, Milland Goldman of Hazel Crest, and Allysha Nobles of Park Forest. The team was coached by PSC Professors David Naze, Elighie Wilson, and Ed Schwarz.
