Flossmoor is facing less home foreclosures this year, reports the Sun-Times Media.
Compared to the first six months of last year, this year shows a 25 percent reduction. By the end of the year, the village is expected to have 78 foreclosures—14 less than the 92 from last year. If the numbers stay true, it will be the lowest rate since 2007.
“We’re consistent with communities of a similar character,” Flossmoor Assistant Village Manager Patrick Finn said in a Sun-Times report.
According to Finn, this year's foreclosure numbers represent a "healthy and significant drop."
Between 2007 and 2012, 587 foreclosures were filed in the village, out of a total of about 3,500 homes.
