District 153’s Fund Run Raises $8,000, Gets Praise

Money from the run will help to fund new, innovative school projects.

450 residents came out to last Saturday to help Foundation 153 raise roughly $8,000 for during , according to Communications Coordinator Shelley Peck.

D153 Superintendent Dale Mitchell (who participated in the run) praised the effort and those who helped organize it.

“What I really love about the is seeing families—from babies in strollers to grandparents—come out to have fun together and support the schools,” Mitchell said. “And we’re so grateful to all the parent and staff volunteers who give so much time to plan and put on this wonderful event.”

The money from the will go straight to the classrooms as part of Foundation 153’s fall grant cycle, according to Peck.

“The dollars raised will help provide the opportunities our talented staff needs to try new things in their classrooms and school buildings,” Mitchell said.
