Stanicek will give a lecture about the exhibit, titled "Drawn to Clay," at a reception at 3:30 p.m., Thurs., March 10 in the gallery. Stanicek said the exhibit is inspired by machines and their components.

“Every day of this modern life we are exposed to machines and mechanical things. Still, we seldom consider our encounter with these objects significant even though they do the work, provide the work, or save on the work of our daily routine,” said Stanicek. “Their presence and influence are often overlooked. We love them and we hate them, yet this relationship is ever present.”
