Cooking with Kids

Children will learn how to prepare food and identify food preferences in this hands-on cooking class. The growth cycle, use and cultural significance of several ingredients will be presented and explored through lessons.  An academic curriculum teaches math, science and language arts along with promoting good study skills.

Providing kids with positive, fun experiences with food increases the likelihood that they will try and enjoy those foods. Students work together to prepare such dishes as Vegetable Paella, Llapingachos (Ecuadorian Potato Pancakes) with Red Chile, and East Indian Lentils, learning in the process that new and culturally diverse foods can be both tasty and nutritious.
