Park District Announces Knitting and Crocheting Programs

Get hooked on a new craft at Homewood-Flossmoor Park District's Beginner Knitting and Beginner Crocheting programs.

Beginner Knitting will teach participants how to cast on, hold needles, knit stitches and purl. Participants will create a washcloth for their first project. Basic supplies will be provided. Beginner Knitting meets Tuesdays, Jan. 11 to Feb. 15, from 7-9 p.m. at the Irwin Center. Fee is $42 for residents and $63 for non-residents.

Beginner Crocheting will teach participants how to hold a hook and make a chain, single crochet stitch and other stitches. The first project will be a potholder; a baby blanket and an afghan will follow.  Beginner Crocheting is held Thursdays, Jan. 13 to Feb. 17, from 7-9 p.m. at the Irwin Center. Fee is $44 for residents and $66 for non-residents.
