“When there is the possibility that a principal will not return to her position after the school year ends, the school code mandates a process that must begin by April 1,” Doster said. “This is the last board meeting before April 1, so whether to begin the process will be decided tonight.”

The district will not comment on the situation further, as it is a personnel matter.

Principal Camilleri could not yet be reached for comment.

The D161 board is scheduled to convene at 7 p.m. tonight with the meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. Executive session precedes the meeting at 6:30.
