Anderson, 54, was set to begin his second year as athletic and activities director for the district.
“During his time with us at H-F, Alec made a tremendously positive impact on our staff and students through his spirit and commitment to our school," says Superintendent Dr. Von Mansfield. "He was a dedicated administrator who always had students' best interests in mind. He will be missed as a colleague and friend. Our most sincere condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends."

Alec Anderson joined the H-F administrative team as the district's Director of Athletics & Activities in July 2012. He had more than 15 years experience in athletic administration. He served Bolingbrook High School as the Assistant Principal of Athletics & Activities from 2005-2012. Previously, he was the Director of Athletics at Evanston Township High School and served as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Administrator at Urbana High School District 116.
During his career, he served as a high school teacher, head football coach and assistant coach for wrestling, baseball and track. Anderson held a B.S. in History and Physical Education from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale and a M.A. in Education, Administration and Supervision from Governors State University. A certified athletic administrator, he was a member of the National Interscholastic Association of Athletic Administrators and served the Illinois Athletic Directors' Association as the State Awards Chair.
