School Supplies: What Millennium Students Will Need

Patch lists everything your student will need to start the year off right at Millennium School.

In a few short weeks, local schools will open their doors and fill their seats with area children once again. Coincidentally, school supplies will be flying off the shelves amid bustling crowds and endless checkout lines. If you'd like to get a head start on some of the back-to-school commotion, Patch has compiled a list of the supplies kids will need for each area school.

Fifth Grade

  • One package 7” colored pencils, SHARPENED
  • Two packages wide rule filler paper (120 count)
  • Six 2-pocket folders 
  • 60 no. 2 pencils SHARPENED
  • Two blue erasable pens (medium point)
  • Two boxes red medium pens
  • One nylon pencil bag, clear top w/grommet  7 ¼” x 10 ¼”
  • Six highlighters (yellow, pink, blue, green, orange, purple)
  • One box Crayola crayons (24 count)
  • One box washable Crayola fine tip markers (classic colors), 8 ct.
  • Four large glue sticks
  • One sharp 5” scissors
  • One 1/16”plastic ruler  (12” standard and metric)
  • One 6”protractor (clear)
  • One pink bevel eraser
  • Two 100-sheet pads Post-It Notes (3x3 size)
  • Three boxes 110-count Kleenex tissue
  • Three containers Clorox wipes  (35 count)
  • One package 3x5 ruled index cards (100 count)
  • One 1-subject spiral composition book, wide-rule (70 count)
  • One 7-pocket expendable file 
  • Two rolls  transparent tape (3/4” x 1296”)
  • Three 1” 3-ring binders
  • Three sets  8-tab assorted index dividers
  • Six wide-rule single subject spiral notebooks (70 ct.)
  • Five expo dry-erase markers
  • One sketchbook (approx. 9 x 12), 30 sheets
  • One pencil sharpener with shavings case attached
  • One box Ziploc baggies (gallon size) 
  • One box Ziploc baggies (sandwich size) 
  • One plastic compass
  • One TI-30X-II (B or S) scientific calculator 
  • One flash or thumb drive
  • One set of computer headphones

Sixth Grade

  • Three 2” 3-ring binders
  • Two sets 8-tab assorted index dividers
  • Six 2-pocket/prong folders
  • Two 2-pocket folders
  • Two 100-sheet pads Post-It Notes (3x3 size)
  • One package white reinforcements (100 count)
  • Ten eed medium pens
  • Ten black medium pens
  • One box No. 2 pencils
  • One sharp 5” scissors
  • One 7” pre-sharpened colored pencils (12 count)
  • One package Crayola thin classic markers
  • One small glue stick
  • Two 1/16” plastic rulers  (12” standard and metric)
  • One nylon pencil bag, clear top w/grommet (7 ¼” x 10 ¼”)
  • Two boxes Kleenex tissue (110 count)
  • One 6” protractor (clear)
  • One package wide-rule filler paper (120 count)
  • Three expo black dry-erase markers
  • Two containers Clorox wipes (35 count)
  • One 7-pocket expandable file

What are they doing with 60 no. 2 pencils SHARPENED ? It s about 9 pencils/month.. Do they use they for other purposes than writing?
