Demolition In My Back Yard

On Tuesday, a local house will be torn down. This house, currently located on the 18400 block of Dundee Avenue, soon to be located in a local landfill, was vacated a few years ago and shortly thereafter started giving the local residents and Village troubles. The basement flooded and never properly drained, until the Village intervened. For some time the house operated as a very effective mosquito habitat. Luckily, no one was ever hurt in or near the home, as the exterior steps to the basement had 6+ feet of water in them for months at a time.

The operator that dropped off the demolition equipment this evening (Monday, June 3rd) said that showtime is at 7AM. If you're in the area, please do not block my street with your car, and please keep a safe distance.

Plans for the lot are unknown, but a nice grassy area for kids to play, a community garden, or enev a few free money dispensers would be nice. I'm just sayin'.
