District 153 Fills School Board Vacancy

The District 153 Board of Education has appointed Homewood resident Alex Bosch to fill vacancy on the school board.

Homewood resident Alex Bosch is the newest member of the District 153 Board of Education.  The school board appointed Bosch to fill the . Bosch will fill the position until the next school board election in April 2013.

Bosch, a 17-year resident of Homewood, is an Executive Administrator at the University of Chicago where he handles matters involving human resources, budgeting, strategic planning and contract management and negotiations. He and wife, Bridget, have three children currently attending District 153 schools.

Bosch has been an active volunteer in support of District 153.  He is currently completing his second term as President of Foundation 153, District 153’s education foundation. He also served as Co-Chair of Citizens for Homewood Schools, a volunteer citizens committee formed to support last year’s passage of District 153’s funding referendum.

Bosch also has been a coach or assistant coach with the Homewood Soccer Club for the past three years.

“Alex will be a wonderful addition to our school board.  He has demonstrated his commitment to the children of District 153 time and time again,” School Board President Shelly Marks said.
