Homewood's Willow School Gets $1,500 Donation from Jewel-Osco

Homewood's Jewel-Osco store presents a generous $1,500 donation to Willow School.

(183rd and Kedzie) recently donated $1,500 to . 

The donation is part of a back-to-school promotion with the Coca-Cola company.  The promotion awards stores with the largest increase in Sprite products to choose a local school to receive the donation.

"We are so excited to have been chosen to receive this gift," Willow School Principal Mary Ann Savage said.

Savage said the school would use the funding to offset the costs of its "Bee Healthy, Bee Smart" wellness program.  "Bee Healthy, Bee Smart" is the school's monthly fruits and vegetables taste testing program where students are exposed to healthy foods they might not otherwise choose to eat.
