Both the Maroon and Gold Pom Teams earned first place finishes at their state competition, the Chicagoland Dance Championship.
The competition, hosted by the Universal Dance Association, was this past Saturday, January 21st, at the UIC Forum in Chicago.
"This is the culminating competition for our girls—our 'state,'" Pom Teams sponsor Amanda Townsend said. "However, it's much bigger. Schools from as far away as Toronto come to compete. The fact that both of our teams are champions of their categories is a very big deal."
The Maroon Team competed in the "pom" category, and the Gold Team competed in the "hip hop" category.
"The girls worked so hard this year," Townsend said. "They deserve to end their season on such a high note."
Super, incredible, mega-great awesome job, girls!
