Office Max Makes Churchill School Teacher's Day

A 4th-grade teacher at Homewood’s Churchill School was one of 1,000 teachers nationwide who was surprised with $1,000 worth of classroom supplies from Office Max as part of its "A Day Made Better" program.  A Day Made Better was created in response to evidence that teachers spend roughly $1,000 out of their own pockets each year on supplies for their classrooms and students.

Representatives from the local Homewood Office Max surprised teacher Lisa Yoshino at an all-school assembly on October 2nd.   

Included in Yoshino’s winnings were dozens of basic school supplies as well as a new teacher's chair, a classroom laminating machine and a Flip video recorder. In addition, Office Max delivered a huge box of donated supplies for the entire school, supplies collected during its recent in-store school supply drive. 

“Lisa is so deserving of this recognition.  She is selfless in her effort, always looking at the needs of her students and her colleagues before her own,” said Churchill Principal Cece Coffey.
