'Just Turkey' Owner Transforms Location into 'Homewood Grille'

Boys and girls, meet the new grille in town. Homewood Grille is open for business.

A Homewood business owner is sticking around town and trying something new.

Brian Latman, owner of Just Turkey, has expanded his store's offerings, changed the name, switched up the decor—and can't wait for people to try it out.

Latman set up shop at 17947 Halsted St. more than three years ago, and his new Homewood Grille is in the same spot, but includes chicken and beef menu items, including hand-packed turkey and hamburgers.

The food spot now offers freshly prepared salads, Italian beef sandwiches, and wraps, among other menu items. Staff had a soft opening a week ago, but now they're eager for customers to come try them out. The spot offers seating for 20, but Latman suggests calling in orders ahead of time, as everything is made fresh to order. The complete menu is available online.

Now operating as the Grille, Latman has switched to using Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, and custom-made spices.

"We're a small business," Latman said, of his efforts. "People can come to a mom- and-pop place and get fresh food."

Catering is available—Latman will even deliver it himself, he said. He boasts of the freshest ingredients used in meals prepared to order.

"That's what sets us apart," he said.

Homewood Grille is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Follow them on Facebook for the latest updates.
