Athlete of the Week: Lewers Has H-F Closing In On Its Goal
Senior soccer standout's two goals against Sandburg moved the Vikings into the supersectional round.
Sandburg’s girls soccer team had a top defense this season and shut down Homewood-Flossmoor and Kelly Lewers 2-0 in early May en route to winning the conference title.
But you can hold down Lewers only for so long. The H-F soccer standout scored two goals and helped the Vikings get payback on their rivals by winning the game that mattered most.

Lewers has 46 goals on the season for the Vikings, who improved to 21-2 and will travel downstate to Normal to take on Granite City in the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.
