Athlete of the Week: Shereyk's Surge Helped H-F Make Postseason Noise

Homewood-Flossmoor softball player Kate Shereyk hit not one, but two home runs in the Vikings' stunning regional final victory over Stagg.

In H-F's 4-1 upset win over the Chargers, Shereyk hit her sixth and seventh homers of the year and drove in all four of her team's runs. Her first homer, a three-run shot, came in the first inning and set the tone for the rest of the game.

Then in Shereyk had a double and scored a run.

In recognition of her contributions to her team, Shereyk is Patch’s Athlete of the Week.

Shereyk, who just finished her sophomore year, will look to lead the Vikings’ offense the next couple of seasons.
