H-F PARK DISTRICT 2012 “STARRY NIGHTS” CONCERT SERIES

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has brought top-notch entertainment for more than two decades to the Marie Irwin Band shell, located in Irwin Park at Ridge Road and Highland Avenue in Homewood. This year is no exception. Prepare for an all FREE summer of music!

The “Starry Nights” concert series, now in its 26th year features three shows for concert goers to enjoy: Maggie Speaks on Thursday, June 14th; The Neverly Brothers on Thursday, June 28th; and R-Gang on Thursday, July 19th.

The H-F Community Band will open for all three “Starry Nights” performances at 6:15 p.m. Headline entertainment will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Maggie Speaks - Thursday, June 14th at 7:00 p.m.

Be prepared to enjoy over five decades of your favorite music from a band that is considered to be one of the most popular in Chicago. Maggie Speaks performs a high energy show that will leave you singing along!

The Neverly Brothers - Thursday, June 28th at 7:00 p.m.

The Neverly Brothers play hits from 1950’s Rockabilly, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rhythm & Blues up through the 1960’s British Invasion. Dressed in period matching suits for era, the Neverly Brothers will make you feel like you are witnessing rock history unfold before your very eyes - and ears. A retro rock ‘n’ roll history tour!

R-Gang - Thursday, July 19th at 7:00 p.m.

R-Gang specializes in R&B music from the Motown era through the 90’s and was voted “Best R&B Band in Chicagoland” in Suburban Nitelife Magazine’s Reader Poll. Performing as a band for the over 18 years, R-Gang delivers solid performance and great music. Come out and enjoy an evening of song and dance with R-Gang!

In case of rain, the “Starry Nights” concerts will be held at the HFPD Auditorium at 2010 Chestnut, Homewood. Admission to Starry Nights concerts is FREE. Food and beverages will be available from vendors throughout the series. Alcohol will be available for purchase at “Starry Nights” as well. All “Starry Nights” events are smoke-free.

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is a two-time National Gold Medal Award Winner for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.
