Football: Bolingbrook Earns H-F's Respect
Bolingbrook 41, Homewood-Flossmoor 28: The Raiders jumped to a 27-0 lead and then held on in the second half, setting up a battle with Lincoln-Way East next Friday for first place in the Southwest Suburban Blue.
Breaking It Down: Most of the talk coming into the football season in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference was about the talent of Lincoln-Way East and Homewood-Flossmoor. After Bolingbrook’s 41-28 defeat of the Vikings on Friday night, the Raiders have to be mentioned in the same breath as the Griffins.
Bolingbrook jumped to a 27-0 lead in the first half to stun the Viking crowd. Quarterback Aaron Bailey put the Raiders on the board on the first possession of the game on a 2-yard run to make it 6-0. After the Vikings stalled on offense, the Raiders’ D.J. Pruitt returned an H-F punt 67 yards for a touchdown. The Raiders added the two-point conversion and led 14-0.
On H-F's next possession, quarterback Tim Williams threw a pass that was picked off by Tevin Teamer. Bailey made it 21-0 on a 5-yard touchdown run. Then, on the Vikings' very next play, Williams threw another interception to Teamer. Jaden Huff scampered in from 2 yards out to make it 27-0 with less than a minute left in the first quarter.

Bolinbrook led 41-7 at half. The Vikings made a comeback in the second half as Williams threw two touchdown passes and Anfernee Roberts intercepted a Bailey pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown to make the score 41-28. The Vikings had two chances on offense to get closer but were stalled both times as Williams was sacked six times on the night and also fumbled twice.
Patch’s MVP: Tevin Teamer, Bolingbrook. Teamer had two interceptions on back-to-back offensive plays for the Vikings. Both interceptions came in the first quarter. Both led to touchdowns and allowed the Raiders to take a commanding 27-0 lead.

Bolingbrook Stat Pack: Quarterback Aaron Bailey had three touchdown runs, including a 65-yarder. Jaden Huff added two touchdown runs.
H-F Stat Pack: Quarterback Tim Williams went 14-for-30 for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Sheldon Jones had three catches for 59 yarsd and a touchdown. Sheldon Jones added two catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. Kristopher Porche finished with two catches for 22 yards and Anfernee Roberts had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Team Records: Bolingbrook is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Southwest Suburban Blue. H-F dropped to 3-2 and 1-2.
