H-F Alum, Former Illini Linebacker Tries Out for NFL Scouts

The '08 grad ran through the paces in front of NFL scouts last week.

Eight former Illini football players set out to show their best to NFL Scouts Thursday, March 6.

Russell Ellington, class of 2008, ran through the paces and presented scouts with his list of his offers from schools other than Illinois.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound two-star recruit chose Illinois over offers from Akron, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Wake Forest and Western Michigan.

In his time with Illinois, Ellington set his career-hight 8 tackles playing against Illinois State in Sept. 2009.
