On His Game: H-F's Tim Williams Has Big Decision to Make

Homewood-Flossmoor two-sport standout Tim Williams is in an enviable position to pick between scholarship offers to play football or basketball in college.

Homewood-Flossmoor football/basketball star Tim Williams has some difficult decisions to make in the days, weeks and months ahead.

But these are 'good' difficult decisions to have to make.

Such as, should I play basketball or football in college? Or should I try to do both?

These are questions Williams will continue to ponder throughout the school year, but right now he is trying to lead the Viking football team back to the state playoffs.

So far, so good. Williams, a senior quarterback, has helped guide the Vikings (2-0) to non-conference victories over Chicago Senn (76-6) and Deerfield (47-0).

With the intensity of the season set to pick up with the start of conference play this week, the personality of Williams will no doubt help the team.

"My teammates would describe me as laid back and smooth," he said.

Williams has been just that on the football field thus far for the Vikings. He lists Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens as one of his favorite athletes because Reed makes plays.

Both the H-F football and basketball teams have grown accustomed to seeing Williams do just that during his career as a Viking. They will no doubt need him to continue to do that if they have any hopes of making some football noise in November or getting in on some March Madness come springtime.
