Plainfield Basketball Star Transfers to H-F

The Vikings girls basketball team will be welcoming 6-foot-1 junior Faith Suggs to the team this season.

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School girls basketball team is set to get a big boost this year, both literally and figuratively, with the addition of former Plainfield East star athlete Faith Suggs. The 6-foot-1-inch junior is known as "one of the top players in the area," according to the Chicago Tribune.

While Suggs is new to H-F, she and newly hired girls basketball coach Anthony Smith go way back. Since eighth grade, Suggs has been playing on Smith's AAU Dream Team.

"… I'm extremely excited about this change," Suggs said in a Tribune report. "Coach Smith is the best, and I want to get better."

According to Suggs, the decision to move to the Homewood-Flossmoor area and transfer to H-F was a family one. Her father, former NFL player Shafer Suggs, is fully on board.

"I wanted to put Faith in the best situation to get her ready for the next level," Shafer Suggs told the Tribune. "Faith needs to be in an environment where she continues to develop."
