IJP Kindergarten Students Take a Virtual Trip to China

students took a virtual trip to China last Monday.

Teachers, Ms. Kathy Piattoni and Ms. Stacey Swanson guided the students to the Far East as part of a unit of study. The lesson acknowledged the Chinese New Year on the 23rd with a virtual tour, via Smart Board technology. The technology throughout the school was upgraded during the summer of 2011. It has since been opening new learning possibilities for students.

IJP Teachers, Stacey Swanson and Kathy Piattoni acted as virtual stewardesses for the flight of Kindergarten students. The students packed bags and brought thoughtful items. The Google Earth flight was navigated by the teachers. Students gained experience, two at a time, as pilot and copilot. Students learned various aspects of the Chinese culture such as foods and customs. On Wednesday, Jan. 25 they enjoyed fried rice. They also created lanterns.
