IJP School Celebrates First Reconciliation

Infant Jesus of Prague School celebrates first reconciliation.

Youngsters experienced the healing love of God at last Sunday when religious education and students first received the sacrament of Reconciliation.

They learned of the unconditional and healing relationship they have with their Father in Heaven.

“As people of faith, we have to believe that God’s love is always surrounding us,” Fr. Mike Nacius, pastor of Infant Jesus of Prague Parish said.

Fr. Nacius assisted the preparation for students’ participation on the sacred day.

Fr. Patrick Lyons, pastor of Our Lady of Knock Parish, led the congregation through an Examination of Conscience during the service.

Some of the questionings were, “Do I love God most of all? Do I keep God’s name holy? Do I attend mass and do I take part? Do I respect my parents and do I do what they tell me to do? Am I kind to all people, even those who I don’t get along with?”

Along with IJP School second grade teachers, Ms. Martha Deitche and Kathleen Murphy, IJP Religious Education Director, Ms. Pat Kahl and Administrative Assistant, Jeannie DiLuia guided students toward the day as well.
